Although the idea for a Mail-order wildflower nursery had its beginning more than
15 years ago when an experimental nursery began, it wasn't until 1984 when the Woodstock
Wildflower Nursery was formed and propagation began in earnest. The premise
being to provide a source of wildflowers to the public not wild collected and, to collect
information on the growing, propagation and use of wild plants in the landscape.
In 1986, four years and more than 200 hundred species later the
"Woodstock Wildflower Nursery" opened for business. In keeping with the above
premise the Woodstock Wildflower Nursery, recognizing the need for the conservation of
native plants, supports and practices the concept of conservation through propagation,
education, and research.
